Economic Development (Vegetation Management) By-law 2013 – 2 December 2016


A corporation called the ‘Minister for Economic Development Queensland (MEDQ)’ is established to facilitate economic development and development for community purposes in Queensland.

  • Sections 3, 8, 13, 15, 17, 20, 21, 54, 115, 116A, 116B

A person may apply in the approved form to MEDQ for a permit to carry out development in an area declared by regulation to be a Priority Development Area (PDA).

A (registered) covenant in a Priority Development Area (PDA) is of no effect to the extent of inconsistency with the ruling development instrument.

The MEDQ may issue charge notices to owners of land. A relevant charge does not become owing until 20 business days after the owner of the land on which the charge is levied is given the charge notice.  The charge is recoverable from the owner for the time being of the land.
