Trade and Investment Queensland (‘TIQ’) is established to facilitate, encourage, promote, identify, attract and develop trade and investment opportunities. It is also established to develop and administer schemes in relation to export markets and foreign direct investment. For a complete list of functions and for the definition of ‘trade and investment opportunities’, refer to section 10 of the Act.

Reason for law

To achieve economic and social benefits for Queensland by facilitating, supporting and encouraging trade, investment and other commercial opportunities for Queensland, including between Queensland and foreign countries. (Section 3)
